Our world is changing rapidly. In the last 10 years alone, giant strides in digital education and its subsequent developments have changed the way we see the world and how we interact with one another.
This rapid evolution has created a need for businesses to reinvent themselves and avoid being left behind in this brave new world.
The value of digitally competent employees in today’s economy cannot be overemphasized and with an increasing demand for trained digital professionals, a need for digital education institutions has risen in Nigeria.
The desire to fill this need gave birth to Toolz Academy, a subsidiary of the Street Toolz Group.
Originally established to train business executives in digital marketing and equip them with the tools they need to transition their companies to the digital ecosystem, Toolz Academy has transitioned to become the leading Digital Training Institute in Nigeria for all cadre of people.
The Academy not only offers professional courses in areas of digital marketing such as Social Media Marketing, Search Engine Marketing and Optimization, Content Marketing and so on.
“We want to be the platform to reach out to for accessible and affordable digital marketing education…”, Olufunke Akinloye, Chief Learning Officer at Toolz Academy told Marketing Space in a recent interview.
“Toolz Academy is continuously and actively working to bridge the skill gap by offering specialised free trainings targeted at young graduates, working professionals, human resources executives, entrepreneurs, students, and small business operators.
We thus have a new program designed to teach teenagers how to code over the summer, Toolz Academy is determined to reinvent digital education in Nigeria,” Akinloye added.
Established in 2015, the Academy has trained over 600 individuals and in this group are included Admen, business executives, SME owners, HR professionals, students, etc.
Toolz Academy is evolving to a level where anyone or professional can reach out through their platforms and take courses that will positively impact their lives in different areas.
In order to help a quicker digital assimilation, the academy has also kicked off an Internship programme that would create a pool of digitally minded ready-to-hire individuals for companies and organisations that need their services.
Akinloye continued: “We strongly believe that a change in the standards of education will alter Nigeria’s position at the moment.
“Education makes a difference in the lives of people. The more we are able to make education accessible to more people, the more fulfilling it would be for us.”
